Abstract:

Objective

To explore the correlation of gastrointestinal symptoms, Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection and gastric precancerous diseases.

Methods

Patients diagnosed as chronic gastritis were selected from January 2013 to October 2014. Then the patients were divided into upper gastrointestinal symptoms of positive group (360 cases) and negative group (360 cases). All patients were tested by 14C breath test and diagnosised with biopsy in endoscopy. The relationship between the upper gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with HP positive rate and the upper gastrointestinal symptoms with endoscopy biopsy diagnosis of precancerous disease were compared, respectively.

Results

The HP detection rate of upper gastrointestinal symptoms positive group was significantly higher than that of negative group (χ2 = 353.892, P = 0.000). The incidence of chronic gastritis with symptoms of upper gastrointestinal dysplasia positive group was significantly higher than that of negative group (χ2 = 12.328, P = 0.000).

Conclusions

Upper gastrointestinal symptoms was correlated with HP infection, and there were relevantion between upper gastrointestinal symptoms and chronic gastritis.

Key words: Helicobacter pylori, Upper gastrointestinal symptoms, Precancerous diseases, Correlation
