Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the value of integrated care intervention in bacterial vaginosis.

Methods

Total of 90 patients with bacterial vaginosis in Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Capital Medical University from February 2014 to February 2015 were randomly divided into routine care group and integrated care group, with 45 cases in each group. Patients in routine care group accepted conventional bacterial vaginosis nursing, while the patients in integrated care group received comprehensive nursing intervention including strengthened vaginal care, individualized health guidance and targeted psychological care. Days staying in hospital, nursing satisfaction and the total efficiency of the patients in the two groups were evaluated, respectively.

Results

The average days staying in hospital of patients in the integrated care group were significantly fewer than that of the routine care group (t = 4.50, P < 0.001), while the care satisfaction scores were significantly higher (t = 7.21, P < 0.001), and the total effective rate was 97.78%, which was higher than that of the routine care group (46.67%) , with significant difference (χ2= 34.58, P < 0.001).

Conclusions

The integrated nursing interventions could increase the cure rate of the disease, reduce the days staying in hospital and improve nursing satisfaction of the patients.
