Abstract:

Bacterial central nervous system infection is a common and severe intracranial infectious disease, and its early laboratory diagnosis had an important role in the treatment and prognosis. The laboratory techniques for diagnosis of bacterial central nervous system infection experienced cerebrospinal fluid routine, biochemical and other traditional detections to PCR, nucleic acid hybridization, 16S rRNA sequencing and microassay technology for multiple methods, multiple indexes and multidisciplinary cooperation, which promote the development of the early and rapid laboratory diagnosis. This paper reviewed about the epidemiology, common pathogens and the progress in laboratory diagnosis of bacterial central nervous system infection.
